Fly to Geneva
Easyjet fly to Geneva from Liverpool
and Luton. British Airways
also fly to Geneva from most major UK airports. Flights are often cheaper
midweek.
Coach travel
Travelling to Geneva by coach is often a cheaper option than flying but
you will need to travel to London. It also takes 20 hours! Try Go
by Coach for fares and times.
Getting to Les Houches
From Geneva, you can travel to Chamonix using the direct bus from the
airport, then by bus along the valley to Les Houches. Les Houches also
has a station on the narrow-gauge railway that links with the main SNCF
network at Le Fayet.
Alternative starts
We took the train from Geneva to Martigny. Swiss
timetables are available on the Internet. After overnighting there,
regular buses travel to Col de la Forclaz. This provides an alternative
start, particularly if your trip starts on a Saturday, when many people
may be leaving Les Houches.
Another alternative would be to start in Courmayeur.
