Weather

The weather in the Alps is notoriously fickle. It can snow at any time of year and it may be wet for several days at a time. However, you should anticipate hot sunshine as we had for the majority of the tour in September.

When planning, it is useful to have one or two days to spare to hole up if the weather does become poor. Views will not be at their best, so if you can, wait for better days.

Even if you are lucky to have hot weather during the day, the temperature can drop quite low at night, producing hard frosts. Worth bearing in mind if you're camping.

Forecasts and current weather conditions can be found at Meteoswiss and (recommended) Meteo Chamonix.
