A circuit from the A515 to Hartington and back.
Start at the large lay-by on the A515 at SK 157 563 for a 16 km (10 mile) stroll.

A circuit from Hartington starting at 10.00 am
From Manchester, after reaching Buxton
by the A6, take the A515 Ashbourne road. Follow this for a few miles, passing turns to Monyash, Hartington and Matlock. Pass Rivendale Caravan Park on the left, a quarter of a mile beyond which is a large lay-by at SK 157 563, point 1 on the map below, from which our walk starts.
Allow at least one and a
quarter hours from Manchester.

We take the Tissington Trail south, before dropping into Wolfscote Dale and heading up the dale to Hartington.

After a sumptuous lunch, we head along a track to Biggin, then across fields to regain the Tissington Trail, possibly in the dark, for the final stroll back to the cars.
