Martin's report:

Half the group left today. Sue and I took Andrew (disappointed after troubles on Tofana) back up the toll road, dropping Nick off in Misurina to do the whole of the Bonacossa Way - it extends further than the route we normally do on it - and walked back up to Drei Zinnen refuge. Then we did the Wind Gap Path route up Paternkofel, through various tunnels and up the hardest VF route Andrew had yet attempted.

Here we met an English family whose 6 and 8-year-old children shot up this route (Sue and I almost bragged about our exploits on VF Giovanni Lipella [we are proud of them] – before discovering that these children did that route last year!).

Andrew managed well, it made up for the earlier disappointment, and we had a great day out, before picking up Nick and returning to an a la carte campsite meal.
